7 Wonders Duel is a 2-player version of the award-winning and popular 7 Wonders that adapts the gameplay you've come to love in the classic version. The draft mechanism is slightly different, with players choosing cards to play on their turn from a pyramid-shaped set of face-up and face-down cards set at the start of the game round. Players can only take cards if they aren't covered by other cards, so it's important to plan which cards to choose from turn to turn, so you don't run the risk of doing the right thing at the wrong time. Once a card has been obtained, as in the base game, you can build it, discard it to get 3 coins, or build a wonder.
Each player starts the game with 4 wonder cards that, when built, grant excellent bonuses to whoever builds them, for a maximum of 7 wonders built in total.
Resources can be obtained through the common bank, or by using certain cards that make them available for the future. In both cases, each time a player obtains a resource, it causes its price to increase for the opponent, mimicking in some way the dominance of one player or the other on a particular type of resource.
The game can be won by following 3 different conditions: military dominance, by developing a certain number of military cards the players will be able to reach and conquer the enemy city; scientific dominance, whoever manages to develop all 6 development symbols wins the game; if none of the previous conditions occurs within a certain number of rounds, the winner will be the one who has obtained the highest number of victory points.
