Human civilization has taken many forms. Now you can be the leader of one of them. But beware. There are other civilizations, world disasters, and dark ages. How will you grow your civilization?

In Nova Era, players guide their civilization from humble tribal beginnings to vast scientific empires, navigating the folds of history. They harness the power of technology, expand their territories, and recruit famous (and sometimes infamous) figures from throughout history. Civilizations face constant threats from rival nations, natural disasters, social unrest, and the ever-looming possibility of a Dark Age.
The goal of Nova Era is to build the greatest civilization. This is done by strategically choosing the most advantageous technologies, territories, and personalities from the tableau, evolving them as players traverse the annals of time. Players score by having a variety and/or majority of different types of technology, as well as fulfilling the various goals of the cards.

The game revolves around drawing and spending dice, with different types providing different resources, bonuses, and penalties to players. Running out of dice leads to civil unrest, while unused dice fill the Dark Age and Natural Disaster progress bars, affecting all players. Once all dice actions have been performed, an era ends and a new one begins. After three eras have passed, the game ends and the most prosperous civilization wins!
