DESCRIPTION

Between the 9th and 17th centuries, trade in the Mediterranean was characterised by the presence of the Maritime Republics, Italian port cities which, precisely by virtue of their commercial influences, managed not only to prosper, but also to maintain a certain political autonomy.
Among these, the oldest is that of the Grand Duchy of Amalfi, which reached its maximum splendor between the 9th and 10th centuries.

Amalfi is a competitive game, during which players, in the role of the Dukes of Amalfi, must distribute their fleet among the ports of the Mediterranean. At the end of each of 5 rounds, players who have deployed the most ships in a single port get a doubloon.
But be careful: those who know the sea know that you always have to deal with the wind, which changes from one moment to the next. In fact, during each game round only the cards linked to the "active" winds have an effect.

Also, only one player per round has the ability to control the winds, so pay attention to the cards that other players play face up, and try to guess which ones will be played face down. This way you will be able to plan your strategy better, you will get more wealth than everyone else, and you will become the most powerful traders in Amalfi!
