WARNING: This Edition of the Heroes and Demons expansion is not compatible with the Second Edition of the El Dorado game.

Heroes and Demons is an expansion for the El Dorado board game that includes three new double-sided terrain tiles that add a new element to the game: curses. When a player lands on a "demon location" space, they must draw and reveal a curse token to see how they are affected. They may have to discard some cards, or they may be paralyzed while their opponents advance. They may also be possessed by a demon, specifically a demonic card that is shuffled into the player's deck, slowing down their exploration. So why would a player move you to a "demon location" space when you know that bad things can happen to you? Because you don't spend any cards to go to these spaces, and in addition, some demonic spaces have tunnels that allow you to quickly move to another hex on that same tile.
This expansion adds, in addition to the 3 game boards already mentioned, 1 inn, 2 blocks, 60 expedition cards, 18 cave tokens and 20 curses.
