Le Havre is a French city that is home to the second largest port in France (after Marseille). The city is notable not only for its size, but also for its unusual name.

Le Havre is a game about port management, ship building and buildings.

Each turn players must decide whether to take goods of one type or perform a building action.
The number of goods on the offer spaces varies from turn to turn. New goods of each type are added regularly, piling up until a player takes them.

Wood, clay and iron are building resources. Fish, grain and livestock are used to feed your dock workers. Building actions allow you to improve your goods (the improved goods are shown on the back of the tokens).

Players must also build Wooden, Iron, and Steel Ships at a Dock to meet the food demands that increase round by round.
Players can also use their money (Francs) to buy ships and buildings. These can be built with raw resources or purchased with money.
Any player can enter any building. Many buildings require an entrance fee, usually in food.

At the end of the game, the player with the largest wealth, given by the sum of the player's money and the value of his ships and buildings, wins.

Le Havre is a 1-5 player game, with short or full game versions, ensuring just the right level of challenge for any gaming group.
