The year is 1936. As Hitler's grip on Germany tightens and the depravity of the regime comes to light, the idea of assassinating the tyrant begins to take shape among some of the highest echelons of the Reich.
Black Orchestra is a thrilling and tense board game in which players, playing as famous real-life conspirators who attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler, must hatch a plot to assassinate the Führer without attracting the unwanted attention of the Gestapo, all while World War II rages on.
There is only one way to win the game: assassinate Hitler by successfully rolling the dice in a plot.
Each character will belong to a different class: political, military or civilian and will have a unique special ability.
The engine of the game is represented by event decks that retrace the duration of the Second World War.
You move around the map via connections, explore cities revealing objects (which can be acquired and traded), draw and play cards and, of course, you can “conspire” to gain more actions (than the standard 3) per turn, increase motivation or reduce Hitler's military support, but at the risk of attracting suspicion and ending up being arrested by the Gestapo.
You can also be exonerated but if all players are arrested, the game will automatically be lost.
The game is also a race against time since, at each turn, players must reveal an event card. When these run out, the game is lost. Not only that, if the “Compromising Documents” card is drawn, defeat is immediate.
