Case of Belli

Casus Belli is a game of exploration, settlement and warfare in space. Over a thousand years ago, humanity spread across the stars, creating a huge empire. This empire grew too large and split into four major factions, a period now known as the “Great Sundering”, which led to a period of war. The conflict led to an age of darkness for humanity. Now, after many years, the four factions have begun to expand again. How they act is determined by their prevailing ideology, who knows if this will lead to a new war...

Each faction will explore and colonize the systems of the region. In doing so, they will encounter ancient alien technologies. However, some of these technologies will lead to corruption. The game begins in a time of peace. Certain actions can lead to increased tension, which in turn can lead to war. While peace reigns, factions cannot fight each other... unless they have a casus belli. Once war breaks out, factions split into alliances and large battles can break out.

The game takes place over seven to nine turns, and at the end of the game each faction gets a different score for the resources it has on the board.
