Tokyo Highway is a board game inspired by the Tokyo subway system. The game has no board, the playing area is created by the players during the game. To win, players will have to intersect each other's roads in order to place their vehicles.

The Tokyo Highway: Rainbow City version adds four new rules to the basic rules of the 2016 version:
- new points of interest in the city, such as the symbolic red tower of Tokyo, the airport or the stadium
- The car types go from 1 to 10, besides the typical sedan, you will find the sports car, the limousine, the bus and many others
- new rules – These are added to the basic rules, making the game more varied. There are various missions that use areas or machines, making the construction of the city of Tokyo more strategic and even more fun.
- better materials – the new rubber that the machines are made of improves their grip on the road. Also the rubber pads that have been attached under the roads improve their stability, so you will feel more confident when you place them
