Zapotec is a strategy and construction game set in the full development of a pre-Columbian civilization in Central America, where the goal is to build pyramids and earn the favor of the gods. The development of the game, however, is not so direct, in fact to obtain the resources necessary to build pyramids and carry out sacrifices or rituals, it is also necessary to build houses, crops and so on. Zapotec uses a particular turn system, in fact all players simultaneously choose a card from their hand at the beginning of the round, thus determining the resources and lands to which they will have access during their turn, as well as their position in the turn order, based on the card chosen by the others. These factors impose the need for planning and strategy that make the game always interesting.
